In this work I invited the subjects to control their own representation by having them create mood boards, dictate the lighting styles and come up with the overall artistic vision. This work engages with the themes of identity and belonging through its efforts to give the subjects as much control over their own representation as possible. Queer identities are inherently their own and do not belong to any existing structure. This work speaks to the idea that queer identities exist for one another and do not need validation or recognition from a traditional audience. We belong by virtue of being seen by one another and seeing each other the way that we would want to be seen.
